Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has commended the role of Home Guard personnel deployed during the Maha Kumbh 2025, highlighting their contribution to maintaining security and ensuring smooth management throughout one of the world’s largest religious congregations. Speaking in Lucknow, the Chief Minister noted that more than 14,000 Home Guard jawans were stationed at the event, forming a crucial backbone of the state’s security and administrative arrangements.

According to the Chief Minister, the personnel demonstrated exceptional discipline, courage and commitment during the massive spiritual gathering, which drew millions of pilgrims from across India and abroad. Their presence strengthened crowd-control efforts, assisted in emergency responses and supported the broader law-and-order framework established for the month-long festival. Adityanath emphasised that their work earned widespread appreciation from visiting devotees, organisers and various administrative departments involved in the mammoth exercise.

He further stated that the seamless coordination among security agencies was instrumental in delivering a safe and well-managed Maha Kumbh, and the Home Guards’ contribution stood out as an important pillar of that achievement. Their dedication, he said, reflected the state’s focus on preparedness and public safety during large-scale events.

The Chief Minister’s acknowledgement underlines the increasingly central role played by Home Guard units in major public gatherings and reinforces their significance in the state’s broader security operations, especially during events of national and cultural importance.
